Mission: Interfaith family services (formerly interfaith housing coalition) was founded in 1985 to provide transitional housing and support services to homeless families. through the years, a broad coalition of individuals, foundations, churches, and service groups have joined the ministry. initially designed to help families with situational homelessness stabilize and move forward within 90 days, the interfaith housing program has evolved to provide an in-depth approach to address the root issues of generational poverty and homelessness, with families now staying up to 9 months depending on their specific needs. we provide transitional housing for homeless families and temporary assistance (such as rent and utility assistance) for at-risk families, ged preparation and esl courses, career coaching, vocational training, financial coaching, counseling, lifestyle management classes, and childcare, all at little to no cost to families. our programs promote family stability, teach skills to break the poverty cycle, and build a strong sense of community in the process.
