• Mission: Family promise is a national nonprofit that serves families with children who are experiencing or at risk of homelessness. founded in 1988 and headquartered in summit, nj, the organization’s network mobilizes communities across the country to create sustainable solutions that ensure children and their families have safe, affordable, secure housing. we address all the issues that can lead to homelessness to ensure families have the tools and skills to regain and maintain independence. we foster community engagement through optimization of existing community resources and collaboration with local and national partners to focus on the following areas: homelessness prevention, emergency shelter, stabilization, and housing. family promise serves more than 60,000 families every year.
