To feed people experiencing homelessness in the Clear Lake area.

Our Vision & Story

The vision of The Mercy Tree is to provide a safe, comfortable environment in which people experiencing homelessness can sit and enjoy a meal at no cost. We aim to be caring and mutually respectful to people we encounter. We also have volunteers who serve by picking up donated food, clothing, and toiletries around the Clear Lake Area. These items are sorted and distributed as needed. In July 2013, we took a leap of faith and created a nonprofit charitable organization called “The Mercy Tree”. The mission of The Mercy Tree is to feed the unhomed in the Clear Lake area. Currently, these meals are prepared offsite by volunteers and delivered and served to homeless clients at various churches in the Clear Lake area.

The Mercy Tree is a nonprofit, 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt charitable organization.  We are dependent on volunteers and donations both of a monetary and in-kind nature (goods) to remain operational. We believe that The Mercy Tree is God’s vision and, as such, He will continue to provide everything needed for us to carry out His Will.

Serving Times

We serve lunch Monday to Saturday at noon. We serve dinner on Sunday at 4:30 p.m.

Meals

Volunteers provide simple hot meals and cold drinks for 20 people. The meals can be home-cooked, store-bought or take-out.
